Yamaha has unveiled a new ATV model designed for children from 10 years old. The YFM110R joins the 49cc YFZ50 and will replace the 88cc YFM90R in the junior range. Yamaha Power Products Manager, Gareth Sloane says:
“This model is a welcome addition to the Yamaha junior ATV range and offers children looking to enjoy the fun of riding ATVs a step up from our popular 88cc YFM90R. For children looking to get involved in ATV racing, or for those who have competed with other Yamaha models, the YFM110R offers the best possible preparation to become an adult racer.”
The new model features a 112cc fuel-injected engine with greater power and responsiveness than previous Yamaha junior ATVs. However, Yamaha is keen to stress that the same high level of safety features is present to give parents and riders peace of mind.
“The YMF110R has a TCI plug-in to adjust engine power to suit different riding abilities, which will enable parents to limit the top speed of the ATV. This can be used to help children adjust to the power and speed of the ATV gradually and safely,” adds Mr Sloane.
The new ATV is also easy to maintain and is fitted with a parking brake as a further safety measure. The styling reflects the much larger YFM700R which is used by adult racers.
“This is an aspirational ATV that juniors looking to get into racing, or graduate to the next level will love. The styling and increased power output makes this Yamaha’s most exciting junior ATV product yet and shows our commitment to encouraging young people to enjoy the thrill of ATV safely and responsibly,” concludes Mr Sloane.
The Yamaha sports range also includes a wide range of adult ATVs including two 998cc models, the YXZ1000R SS and YXZ1000R, the 686cc YFM700R SE and two 450cc models, the YFZ450R SE and YFZ450R.
