X-Cast Media Youth Motocross Digest – Archie Edwards

X-Cast Media Youth Motocross Digest - Archie Edwards

Our friends at X-Cast Media are scouring the nation to search out some of the best young Motocross talent the UK has to offer. So here’s the first racer to be part of their Youth Motocross Digest…

Report and Pictures by X-Cast Media

If you have any knowledge of the British Youth Amateur scene in the South East of England, then you will more than likely recognise the name, Archie Edwards. At only 8 years old, the young rider already has impressive credentials listed on his racing résumé! With multiple Club Championships under his belt in the Auto class, Edwards now has a solid foundation for progression aboard his Husqvarna TC65.

Ambitions for 2019:

With a distinct focus of getting ready for Nationals next year, Archie Edwards and co. are looking to convey the consistency and results from the Autos to this, his pioneering season on the 65. So far he has managed to breach podiums at club level, throwing his hat into the ring with kids that have already established themselves in the class. However, determined to match the dominance in the South East ascertained last year, the team constantly seek to gain the advantage to give them the edge on race day. With a training regime in place, access to Roy Emberson’s private track mid-week and a race calendar leaving little room for manoeuvre, it is obvious that Archie and those surrounding him are devoted to his development throughout his amateur career.

Thoughts on the bike:

With no-expense saved in hope of producing a race-ready machine for the young rider to pilot; JGR Performance was once again conscripted to embellish the Husqvarna with all the bells and whistles for the upcoming season. Coupled with a sleek graphic design and components to match, the little machine presents itself as a force to be reckoned with.

When questioned about the bike, Archie couldn’t nail down just a few aspects that he liked the most. He expressed that the entire package is the real deal, inferring that the move up is a welcome change and he is looking forward to moulding with it even more as the year unfolds.

X-CAST Media’s predictions for 2019:

Having hit the ground running in his opening races, Archie has made a good start to his venture on the 65. He is well aware that he has the capability to win motos, and undisputedly has the drive to match, if not exceed his achievements of seasons past.

It would come as no surprise to most to see Mr. Edwards pilfering the top steps once again. Although expectations by the team in the early stages of the season are reserved, the odds are definitely stacked in his favour. We wish Archie well in all of his endeavours and look forward to seeing how he performs in 2019.

X-CAST Media caught up with the racing prodigy a couple of weeks ago, at EKSSC’s Championship Round (Mildenhall). Check out their edit of #44 from the meeting!
