Saturday’s race action will feature the Pro MX1 and MX2 categories competing alongside the Apico 2-Stroke Festival British 125 class.

Crendon Tru7 Honda’s Conrad Mewse has been in majestic form this year and goes into Round 3 with four wins from four in MX1, topping the standings by 16 points ahead of the SC Sporthomes Husqvarna racer Triston Purdon.  Purdon, though, is racing Stateside in the AMA Pro Nationals this weekend, so it gives the opportunity for the likes of Mewse’s teammate Taylor Hammal, the Apico Honda duo of Martin Barr and Tom Grimshaw and the Dirt Store Kawasaki of Jamie Carpenter, the opportunity to reel him in and cement their space in the top three.

Other contenders for a podium this weekend will be Sam Nunn, Brad Todd, John Adamson, Dan Thornhill and Jason Meara and a whole host of other racers looking to make their mark on the championship.

The racing in MX2 last time out at Preston Docks was outstanding, with the Dirt Store Kawasaki duo of Joel Rizzi and Tommy Searle and Bike It Kawasaki young gun going all out for glory.  It was Rizzi who took the win, but it’s the experienced Searle who tops the standings with a ten-point lead over his young teammate. SC Sporthomes Husqvarna’s Charlie Heyman holds third place, but he picked up an injury from what I know at Canada Heights at the weekend, so it is unknown if he will be on the start line on Saturday.

A whole host of racers, including Jamie Wainwright, who sits in fourth, and a big clump of up-and-comers, including Joe Brookes, the aforementioned Billy Askew, who missed round 1, Ben Mustoe and Ollie Colmer, not to mention the more experienced Ben Franklin and Glenn McCormick, will all be looking to hone in on the podium places.

Over in the 125 Youth class, Josh Vail and Jamie Keith have been duking it out all season long in a number of different championships, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in Cornwall or if another protagonist joins the party.  Charlie Richmond, Will Haddock, and Ollie Bubb will all be looking to do that, as will the Adult riders Matt Bayliss and James Margetson.

Three racers go into this weekend’s Honda Cup motos with just 2 points separating them. Leading the charge is Henry Williams on 124 points, but right up his exhaust pipe on 122 points is Howard Wainwright and Adam Chatfield.  This could get interesting!

In Amateur MX1, which this weekend will be joined by a Stark Varg class, Scott Aldridge is the Red Plate holder and is six points up on Josh Greedy. In Amateur MX2, Harrison Greenough is on a mission and has eked out a 24-point advantage over David Plank.

Harry Fletcher is the lead Clubman MX1 racer, heading a stacked field with a 21-point gap. In Clubman MX2, Richard Roberts and Aaron Framingham, with just 7 points between them, will be going all out to be the series leader come this time next week.
