In Pro MX1 a battle has been raging at the head of the field between Crendon Fastrack Honda’s Conrad Mewse and Josh Gilbert with Gilbert winning round one and Mewse round two. It’s Mewse though with the series lead by just two points over his teammate. While these two clearing off in terms of the championship third position is wide open with the likes of Liam Knight, Steven Clarke, Callum Green and Evgeny Bobryshev all be looking to push their way into the number three spot with a strong performance in Wales.

Pro MX2 is looking to be an intriguing contest. Callum Mitchell is the red plate holder after two rounds with Travis Steels in second and Daniel Hutchinson in third. A whole host of riders have only completed one round but if they can complete the series in good form they have a good chance of overhauling the top three. One round riders include Preston Docks winner Brad Anderson, Cusses number one Charlie Cole, Josh Spinks, Bailey Johnston, Lewis Hall and Carlton Husband.

In the Amateur MX1 series leader John Joe Wright holds a slender lead over Max Wright but Harrison McCann is still in the mix as are the winner and runner-up from Cusses Gorse Jamie Fort and Simon Booth and the consistent Callum Gordon.

Over in the Amateur MX2 class Ben Clark grabbed the Round 2 victory which sees him top the standings by seven points over the hard-charging Henry Siddiqui with Adam Harris, Denny Rapson and Raife Broadley all looking to close the gap on the lead duo this weekend in Wales.

Chester Hyde came of age in the 125’s at Cusses and will be looking to replicate that feat on the Mountain, but he will have the likes of Troy Willerton, Samuel Price, Freddie Gardiner and Beau Brown on his case.

Six different riders have won moto’s in the Clubman class and there could easily be more this weekend. As it stands it’s Kane Fisher leading the championship with a five point advantage over Mitchil Collins, but any of the likes of Richard Roberts, Colin McLuckie, Matthew Fuller, Lee Clarkson, Daniel Chapman, Matthew Jones, Josh Young and Mark Kinsley could make big moves up the leader board with a good weekend in Wales.

Bayliss Utting has racked up an impressive five moto victories in MXY2 so far this year but Jak Taylor has always been at the sharp end too so Utting’s only has a 14 point gap at the head of the standings over his rival. Josh Bassett, Kayde Rayns and Joseph Leeks will be have their eyes on the podium spots this weekend.

In the Big Wheel 85’s SJP Moto’s Josh Vail has been in sublime form and has reeled off a full set of eight moto wins from eight so far. Zane Stephens and Jorge Parkin hold second and third in the series and will be going all out to lower Vail’s colours. Robbie Daly impressed last time out after missing round one and this former champ will be one to watch if he rides in Wales as will Alfie Geddes Green.

Joel Winstanley-Dawson and Olly Waters have been sharing the Small Wheel 85 moto victories so far in 2023 with Joel edging it with five to Olly’s three with Joel also sporting the Red plate by six points over Waters. On the fringes and not out of it are Jack Leese and Jenson Severn who are both capable of pulling a moto win or two out of the bag.

Casey Lister stormed to a four ride maximum at Cusses but Harley Marczak hasn’t been out of the top two in all eight moto’s this year so he will be one to watch for sure being only six points behind Lister in the standings. Cohen Jagielski has also notched up a moto win so will be a surefire contender as will Arthur King and Jett Gardiner.
