This will be the first time that team racing has featured out on the grass since the halcyon days of the good old ACU Inter Centre meetings, which ran from 1951 to 2009. Grass track Banter Promotions has put endless hours of planning into this new venture for team action, carefully considering both the format and line-ups to make it as balanced as possible.

So, attempting to represent the whole of the grass track racing map, the teams have been announced as follows: Northern Knights, Midland Missiles, Eastern Eagles, Southern Stags and Western Warriors. And the riders have certainly bought into this opportunity to go team racing with just about all of the available top stars on both two and three wheels entering. The classes involved are 250cc solos, 350cc solos, 500cc solos, GT140 solos and the 1,000cc Right-Hand sidecars.

Each team can name four riders for all of the respective solo classes and three sidecar crews. Every solo race throughout the programme will feature two riders from each team whilst each sidecar heat will have one crew from each team. The solos and sidecars score points in three rides apiece, all gearing towards the finals. Those big end of the day finals will then include representatives from all teams as they decide overall positions in the tournament.

So, the scene is set for what promises to be an absolute grass track classic at Whaddon Farm, Owslebury, near Winchester SO21 1JJ with admission costs of £15 Adults, £13 Concessions, Under 16’s FREE and programmes at £2. Wear your favourite team colours, support your riders by making maximum noise and enjoy the occasion. Let’s all make sure that this is a rousing success and will be the first of many team tournaments to come!
