The team are still suffering the effects of numerous injuries this season with Glenn, Ben & Alfie all sidelined. Leaving the MX2 class all to Harvey. Whilst Dan and Tom in the MX1.
With extremely windy conditions, MX1 took to the track the first Sunday morning for qualifying. Tom didn’t take long to put in his fast lap, securing P9. Dan seemed to have the speed but couldn’t materialise on it finishing in P17.
Harvey was next out in the MX2, with it being his rookie year in the class there is never any pressure on Harvey but to just ride consistently and have fun. Finishing the qualifying session P24.
MX1 Moto One see a red flag soon after the start due to fallen riders. With the Restart Tom seemed to get a decent jump but got entangled with a few other riders putting him dead last. Meanwhile, Dan managed to avoid the chaos and pushed his way through. Tom remounted and got his head down, and soon found himself moving from last up into the top 15, which resulted in him crossing the line in P13. Dan also had a great race with consistent lap times and impressive riding and finished 1 spot behind Tom in P14.
MX2 Moto 1, See Harvey unfortunately go down in the first corner and taking a hard hit decided to retire from the race.
MX2 Moto 2, both lads seemed to struggle with starts all weekend and the second race was another example of that. Both Tom and Dan knew what they needed to do to pull it back together and set to. Mixed in the middle pack like a freight train on such a hard track to make passes. Despite this, both had brilliant battles which showed the potential of their riding. Tom crossed the line P11 after slipping from 10th on the last lap and Dan P15.
MX2 Moto 2, Harvey had a better start in this moto making it around the first turn with no hiccups. He got his head down and pushed on through the race. Harvey finished the race P23 and with a bit more riding time in the MX2 under his belt he will only improve on this.
Not an ideal weekend for the lads. However, their physical riding can be praised as the ability to push through hard situations.
With only 1 round remaining of the Revo British Championship we can look ahead to working on things or 2024 and take 2023 as a learning year. Team owner Tim Chambers of course loves a result for his lads however, has always embedded in the team to always have fun whilst doing it.
