Walker wins 2021 Connor Smith Memorial Meeting at Dean Moor!

The annual Connor Smith Memorial meeting, hosted by the Nett Quad club at the infamous Dean Moor MX Circuit in Cumbria took place last Sunday.

Report and Pictures by the Zip Racing Par Homes Quad team

As in recent years, the ZIP Racing Par Homes Quad Racing team of Harry and Alfie Walker travelled the 330 mile (#660 round trip incidentally ! ) TO give their support to the Smith Family, and we have also had the privilege of supporting the same by going to Cingoli in Italy on 3-4 occasions now (Pre Covid).

Harry won both the under 21 and Main event there in 2018, and both lads were keen to get both trophies back into the ‘Par Homes’ – Zip camp for another 12 months…

The blistering hot weekend attracted a full lineup to support the sensitivity of this memorial including Scots like Hadden and Wilson who were regulars back in the day racing with Connor.

Harry proved his dominance in the first two Moto’s coming through the field to take two comfortable wins and in the third moto rode a very wise and mature race easing off two laps from the end without drama, taking the overall on the day with a 1-1-2 and first overall. He brings home not only the prestige of the Connor #660 Trophy but the biggest purse he will receive on a yearly basis of £660 …..

Alfie didn’t have the same kind of day he had here for the British a few weeks back having to settle for a 6-5-5- with some terrific battles in the mid-pack, taking 5th overall on the day.  It was ‘Not for the want of trying’ on this fast pace, difficult to pass circuit!

He was unfortunately eluded of the Under 21 shield which deservedly went back to Scotland with Robbie Wood who rode an awesome 3 races. At 17 Alfie has 3-4 years to attempt to claim it?

Our condolences go out to Murray Graham who experienced an engine failure just a few laps from the end of moto 2.

Bill Smith ‘Connors father’ was present and Duly gave out the trophies and Prize money to the top 6.

Both boys Handled themselves incredibly well over the weekends racing and continue to promote not only themselves incredibly well but product sponsors and supporters alike!
