Walker looking to consolidate EMX Quadcross Championship lead at Round 3 in the Czech Republic – Preview

Walker looking to consolidate EMX Quadcross Championship lead at Round 3 in the Czech Republic

We’re rapidly approaching the halfway-point in the 2024 EMX Quad European Championship and, over the weekend of June 1st / 2nd, the EMX paddock rolls into Kramolin, in the Czech Republic, for the third round of five.

Words by Bradley Hix – Images by WSC

At this stage, it’s Harry Walker who is looking to keep a hold of the championship lead in these vital races, which can make or break his title bid. The hard-pack nature of the Kramolin MX Track will certainly play into the hands of the reigning champion, Patrick Turrini, who had a torrid time in Heerde whereby zero points were scored for the young Italian, dropping him to fifth position in the standings, a mighty 45 points off of the top of the standings – needless to say, Patrick Turrini will be doing everything in his power to promote himself back into championship contention.

After the best part of 4 and a half years away from competitive action, Mike van Grinsven made his return to the championship, and proved he had lost absolutely no speed as he led a handful of laps and shall be looking to do the same again this weekend. Also making a return to the championship this weekend is David Susa who is keen to maintain his current form in front of the local fans which, so far, has seen him dominate the Czech National championship, of which he is currently undefeated this season.

Silently going about his business this season, Manfred Zienecker, the German rider who sits in 3rd position in the championship, may well be a dark horse this weekend as he discreetly plots his intention to overhaul the six-point deficit which separates himself from championship debutant Julian Veldman, who may suffer slightly with the hard-pack tracks working against him however, his raw speed shall go in his favour in his efforts to hold on to the runner-up position at this stage.

The remainder of the competitors are all focused on the weekend in the Czech Republic to ensure that this third round of the championship propels their championship hopes into reality.
