Two Stroke Tommy Searle to race Farleigh Castle Vets MX

Two Stroke Tommy Searle to race Farleigh Castle Vets MX

The big names are lining up for the OG vets’ race – Farleigh Castle Vets MX held on its traditional mid-September date. The three-day festival opens its doors at midday on Thursday September 12th.

There is plenty of time on the Friday for scrutineering and sign on, time to walk the track and grab a beer or two as you catch with friends and fellow racers old and new. The beer tent will be open for business across the event with racing over the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th. It remains the only event on the UK motocross calendar with sixty two-strokes on the line in each class, just imagine what that looks and smells like!

Tommy Searle will be lining up in the team race on his DocWob built 2001 KX 250 which will be ran on the day by his Dirt Store Kawasaki squad with team boss Jon Giffard on the wrenches. Jon and DocWob will be working prior to this and the Foxhill event with motor guru Tom Morgan in the states to get more top end HP from the KX 250. Of course, this will all be filmed on both DocWob TV and Tommy’s YouTube channels on the run up and during the event. This will be the only opportunity to see “Two-Stroke Tommy” in full attack mode at this track ringing the neck of his beloved two stroke machine.

Searle is sure to have his hands full with mighty Russian Evegny Bobryshev on the big CR 500 as well as many more huge names yet to be announced and we can’t wait!

Tommy competed in the MX2 class at the MXGP from 2005 to 2008 finishing 2nd in the world before heading to the States to race for Factory KTM in 2009 and 2010. He returned to the Motocross World Championships from 2011 to 2019 in the MX1 class. Searle is a three-time MX2 World vice-champion & a four-time British Champion. His fourteen MX2 Grand Prix victories make him Britain’s most successful MX2 rider and ranks third in total victories across all classes to multiple world champions David Thorpe and Jeff Smith.

The Farleigh Castle Vets MX is under new management for 2024 and beyond. The new management trio – Dave King and DocWob (also the promoters for the hugely successful VMXdN Foxhill) alongside Welsh businessman Shaun Copeman of SC Sporthomes who has raced at every event in its 15 year history, he has a passion and vision for the event that is unrivalled.

Expect the event to be on the up and returned to its former glory days. There is plenty to do both on and off the track with DJ’s, Live bands, Trade Village and the all-new hospitality area with all food and drink vendors run by The Sweet Potato Spirit Company.

We are currently inviting event sponsors and traders for the event, if this is of interest please email hello@farleighcastlevetsmx.co.uk .
