Tough night at Manchester AX for Dirt Store Kawasaki!

Round 2 of the Arenacross UK tour headed to Manchester, with Dirt Store Kawasaki’s Tommy Searle leading the Championship after taking the win at Round 1 in Bolesworth at the back end of 2023.

The day started out well, with both Tommy and Mel Pocock feeling comfortable on the track. Qualifying was a hit for Tommy as he set the fastest time in the Pro class, and Mel bringing home 9th place.

With a packed out night show and close racing in store, Tommy and Mel both got off to a good start. In the same heat, the teammates found themselves battling for position, until a mistake from Mel forced him out of the race; meanwhile Searle would bring his Dirt Store Kawasaki home in 3rd.

Heat 2 would prove difficult for both riders, after collisions with other riders for both Tommy and Mel would see them not make it straight through to the night show final. An unfortunate turn of events after a promising qualification.

Mel would make it through his head to head, however Tommy took an unfortunate fall whilst leading his, resulting in an injured hand. He will get it checked to assess the extent of the injury.

Tommy would miss the night show, and Mel nursed a respectable 9th place in the Main Event, despite riding with injuries from previous crashes earlier in the night.

Despite having a tough night, Dirt Store Kawasaki would like to thank their sponsors, partners and staff for their hard work and efforts that go into the weekend of racing, sticking by us, and helping us look great on track.

Next weekend we head to Belfast for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Arenacross UK series. You can keep up to date with the latest team news on our social media @dirtstorekawasaki.
