There has been much debate on who should represent Team GB at this year’s Motocross of Nations, especially being in our home Nation at Matterley Basin.

After a stunning Dirt Store British Motocross Championship 1-1 at School House MX yesterday, Tommy Searle is the rider on most people’s lips when it comes to a 250 pick. Max Anstie is seemingly out of the picture due to logistics, as he is based in America so with the Dirt Store Kawasaki rider beating all of the UK based riders on a 250 you would have to say he is the obvious choice.

Many people have commented that Searle has said he doesn’t want to race at Matterley, instead preferring to let some of the younger riders take the places. But we asked him after he won both motos at the VMXDN at Foxhill, where he stirred the partisan crowd to a frenzy. When asked if we would line up, he said, “If I get chose, of course I will represent my country. It will be an honour, but I need to do a bit of work beforehand.”

Conrad Mewse should be a shoe-in for one 450 slot, so if he and Searle are in then it just leaves one final spot to be decided and we expect the announcement to be made pretty soon!
