Racing in the opening round of the CFS French Sand Racing Championship at Berck-sur-Mer, Todd was first in the morning Qualification session and won his opening heat on the Saturday, wearing the #1 plate as defending Champion in the series.

On Sunday Todd suffered “a big impact to the head” and “an injury to his eye that will continue to be monitored.”  He also had surgery to a hand injury while in the operating theatre.

Todd’s family updated his social media yesterday to say that “after visiting a number of hospitals and specialists” his recovery has started.  He thanked Airoh, saying that the helmet saved his life and that ultimately he will be able to continue with his career. He has “some injuries we need to deal with” and he is unable to use his phone for the first part of the recovery process, but his wife Lucy is sharing all of the messages of support with him. He signs off with “For now it’s rest and recover, but I’ll be back.”

All of us here at Dirt Hub wish Todd all the best with his recovery.
