Toby Martyn “learns a lot” at tough SuperEnduro debut

Toby Martyn "learns a lot" at tough SuperEnduro debut

British Trials star Toby Martyn had a baptism of fire in his debut SuperEnduro event for the Rieju Factory Racing team, which was the opening round of the 2025 SuperEnduro World Championship, which was held in Gliwice, Poland.

The track designed within the PreZero Arena offered fast areas mixed with very technical parts and loose sandy terrain, proving very demanding for the competitors.

Being thrust straight into the Prestige class against the likes of Billy Bolt and Jonny Walker, Martyn found things tough going and, despite his great technique, logically suffered the problems of being a debutant in a very fast and explosive competition, suffering several crashes that hampered his results, finishing with 13th/13th/11th.

Toby said of the event, “My first night of racing was very bumpy, but I learned a lot after suffering a lot of crashes in the first race. I improved little by little throughout the night. Now it’s time to work hard over Christmas for round two. Thanks to the team for everything they did.”

Martyn’s teammates, Dominik Olszowy and Àlex Puey, both finished second in the Prestige and Junior classes, respectively.

Round 2 is in Riesa in Germany on the 4th of January, and expect Toby to come out fighting, as he now knows what it takes to compete at the highest level of SuperEnduro.
