After the Arenacross UK team list was finalised, showing Jake as going solo for the squad in the British Arenacross Tour, a post on Thomas’ social media showed why he wasn’t in that line-up also.

Thomas Ramette is out in California preparing for A1 this weekend instead of AO Arena!

“Here we are, last minute decision to race with SR75 Suzuki! Awesome to have this opportunity with Geoff [Walker, SR75 team manager] to race A1, 10 years after my last race in Angel Stadium! Thanks to everyone involved to make this happen.” – is what Thomas posted online, and with an unfamiliar three-digit number #210 ready to rock in the 450 class he could certainly be a contender to qualify for the main event.

We spoke to SR75 Suzuki boss Geoff Walker, who was ecstatic at getting Thomas in to race at A1 and is looking forward to a Transatlantic weekend for the team:

“This is something I started to work on when we signed Thomas. It has taken a tonne of work with the team partners, the AMA etc to make it happen and we are over the moon that it all got confirmed just a day ago. I immediately got on a flight and the first day’s testing at Fox Raceway has just come to an end.

“It is in our DNA at SR75 Suzuki to take on amazing missions and this one has been a journey but we are almost there. A1 has been a personal dream of mine with the team so this is absolutely awesome… What a weekend we have ahead representing our partners and all that is great about our sport on two separate continents with our man Jake Shipton fully outta-control excited to get on track in Manchester for what is going to be another epic Arenacross UK series.

“A massive thanks to Suzuki UK, Suzuki USA and all our team partners who give us the best support.”
