The Revvi’s run riot in Sheffield! Revvi Cup @ SX Worx – Race Report & Results

The Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club rocked up to the superb indoor SX Worx venue in Sheffield on Saturday for the UK’s first-ever stand-alone Electric Balance Bike race event and the second Revvi Cup event of 2022.

The entry was packed, the kids were super keen and the track was prepped to perfection as the 12″ Open 3-5 years old group headed to the start to commence proceedings.

With 28 riders doing battle, three point-scoring heat races were needed to define who would make the A, B, C and D finals.

After firing through the heats with three wins it was Louie Bryant who took the holeshot and led the race for two laps before a big crash would put him out of the running, although he did dust himself down and finished the race. Great perseverance Louie. Jaxx Matthews was the new leader ahead of Charlie Ormshaw who would also fall down the order on the last lap. Jaxx would go on to take a well-deserved victory and the Revvi Cup and was joined on the podium by Marley Butler and Jaxson Parramore. Teddy Tarr was fourth, Oakley Hipwell fifth, Remi-Boe Wright sixth, the remounted Bryant seventh and Ormshaw eighth.

In the B Final, Jonah Barks took the chequers showing huge improvement from Wheeldon. Second was Theo Cadd with another Wheeldon racer Martha Gill in third. Jenson Martin rode well for fourth, Rocco Sankey was fifth, Cory Mcintosh sixth and Reuban Howell was seventh.

The C Final saw Chester Jones triumph ahead of Eddison Bennett in second with Harry George Corps in third and Eric Sallis Fourth. Fifth place went the way of Oscar Wild, sixth was Layton Fenton, seventh was Zara Jackson and Poppy Knight was eighth.

Travis Smith would triumph in the D final, taking the win ahead of Tommy Chesworth, Josh Limer and Arlo Fellows in that order. Huge congrats to the littlest of racers for putting on a great show and never giving up.

The 16″ 3-5-year-old category was rammed. Going into the A Final Dakota Wright and George Evans were both unbeaten in their three heat races. It was Wright who took the early lead but Evans was not to be deterred and showed great determination to overhaul Wright and take the win and the Revvi Cup ahead of Wright and Albie Wood who was third. Great racing guys. Hugo Owen would nail fourth in the A Final, Charlie Lister was fifth, Rogan Rossiter was sixth, Leighton-Cooper Wallis was seventh, Max Grieve eighth and George Davis ninth.

The B Final was won by Nancy Hanby who fended off Albie Stone and Leon Warner who were second and third. Grayson Wright grabbed the fourth spot, Jack Loose was fifth, Logan Taylor took sixth, Hugh Nicholas got seventh and Jacob Williams finished eighth.

Over in the C Final, the win went the way of Tommy Craig who headed home Dalton Wright in second and Freddie Smith in third. Daniel Beardall would finish fourth, Oscar Duckworth was fifth, Ellis Lassu was sixth and River Mathias was seventh.

The 16″ Plus 3-5-year-old class was the most competitive of the lot with the race of the day being their A Final which saw early leader Marco Reynolds duking it out with Myles Hanson, Kolbe Red Sole and Ali Workman for the win. Battling his way through for the victory with some fantastic riding was Kolbe, who adds the SX Worx Revvi Cup to his Wheeldon Farm one he won back in February. Well done Kolbe. Myles would edge past Marco for second with Marco keeping Ali at bay for third. Behind Workman in fifth was Reggie Wheatcroft, Ethan Kentch was sixth, Beau Stead was seventh and Carter Johnson was eighth.

Poppy Reeves showed a great turn of speed to take the B final glory over Harry Stead in second with Billy Maddison in third. Archie Johnson bagged fourth, Eli Owen was in fifth, Jenson Brewster took sixth, Ben Abbot seventh and Sophie Conway was eighth

There was a two way race off for C Final glory with Chester Foster getting the job done to win ahead of Eva Spearing who enjoyed her two days riding at SX Worx.

The bigger 6-8-year-old kids certainly showed great skill and speed. The 16″ A final saw Dylan Grew reign supreme in front of Greyson Hughes in the runner up position, Alfie Ledwood was third and Lennon Wilkinson took fourth, while in the B Final Alfie Walker was the number one ahead of Rose Yates in second, Lotty Briscombe third and Eddie Stringer in fourth.

In the 16″ Plus 6-8-year-olds Jesse Barks looked a class act and pitched in with the win over second-placed Rogue Lewis. Chad Cooke rode well for third as did Emelia Bryant who got up from a big crash to finish in fourth. Olivia Rose Shelley would win the B Final.

Well done to every rider who took part and thank you to them and their parents for creating such a great and supportive atmosphere for the little riders.

Julie, Jeff and Paul from the Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club would like to say a huge thank you to Don and the team at Revvi for working with us to make this happen, Johna and Dan at SX Worx for providing a fantastic venue and track, Lee Rudd at Moto Twenty5 for supporting the event and awarding Little Hero hoodies to riders and the Steel Hawk team for as always pulling out all of the stops to run the event.

Thank you also to our Steel Hawk partners Tru7, Duck Smart and Monsters of Dirt, as well as Roy, Gemma, Claire and the team at Nora Motorsport for supporting us with our vision!

We are now working hard to add more Revvi Cup events to the calendar for the remainder of 2022 so keep your eyes peeled!
