With clubs struggling for entries up and down the country, The Scottish Championship miraculously has more entries than last year already. Online entries close at 1pm Friday 15th and day entries will be available if you make contact ahead of travel with the Scottish championship social media pages.

The big news this year is that the two title favourites are both unable to ride the first round. Current MX1 Champion John Adamson has had a last minute switch of teams from SC Sporthomes Husqvarna to Team LEXA. With commitments to race in Holland this weekend, neither he or 2023 runner up Conrad Mewse will be able to ride.

Having sustained a serious injury to his ankle in this years Arenacross championship, Conrad has been enduring an expensive rehabilitation programme. Following a consultation with a second specialist yesterday he has been advised not to ride.

The battle for third in the 2023 Championship was a barnstormer between Cumbrian Brad Todd and local north east favourite Tony Craig, who both tied on points. With Adamson a Mewse now absent, it is anybodies guess who might take the first round win.

Entries show that Ireland might take the win this year with Grand Prix riders Jason Meara and Martin Barr making the journey across the Irish sea along with with the veteran ace Richard McKeown.

MX2 Champion Carlton Husband has moved into the premier class for this year to compete with local favourite Ben Edwards and former champions Ross Rutherford and Billy Mackenzie.

SC Sporthomes Husqvarna make the journey north with Charlie Putnam entered for MX1 along with South African Tristan Purdon who might just be the favourite for this years title.
