It is with great appreciation that the promoters of VMXdN Foxhill welcome Dave Thorpe back to the legendary Grand Prix circuit for the widely talked about MX event of the year, which is VMXdN Foxhill on August bank holiday weekend (24th-28th, August 2023).

“Sir” Dave Thorpe is nothing short of a legend in our sport. He has been an icon for generations. Fans will remember hanging over the railing fences and cheering him onto his three 500cc world championships. So let us not forget that this was when it was two forty-minute races against what is considered the heyday of Grand Prix motocrossers, no easy feat indeed.
As he is affectionately known, DT is a huge supporter of the VMXdN Foxhill and is behind the event 100%. He will be onsite selling his autobiography – No Regrets, well almost, and is often asked to sign copies on request, so ensure you have a Sharpie to hand!
The book looks back at the 3-time FIM 500cc Motocross World Champion career – a feat no other British rider has ever achieved. The biography recounts DT’s career and provides an insight into what made him a triple world champion. Covering DT’s entire life, exploring where his passion for motorcycling started, the choices he made that defined his career and his relationship with his parents, other riders and teams, most notably Honda Racing (HRC).
Written with the support and guidance of established Motorcycle Writer Jack Burnicle, the book explores the highs and lows of a career that has seen DT travel the world, ride with the very best, and contains the best and most challenging moments of a career that achieved much success, however on reflection, could have had even more. But, as the title suggests, Dave has ‘No Regrets’ about the choices he made throughout his career.
DT will be around throughout the weekend and is always happy to meet the fans and take pictures and talk about the glory days, or even the modern racing, as he owns the Crendon Fastrack Honda squad, competing in the current British championship, with riders Conrad Mewse and Josh Gilbert, they are a powerhouse on the national scene.
VMXdN Foxhill is rapidly shaping up as the biggest event on the UK motocross calendar.
