The good Will out! The Putoline Helmsley Enduro – Race Report and Results

The Putoline Helmsley Enduro was the only enduro in the North of England this year and attracted a full entry of riders. The Dirtbike Action team had made good use of the smaller area of land available in October. Two time checks per lap and 1 long cross country special test, the second checkpoint was tight on time and would keep riders on their toes with around 60 riders losing time on this check.

Report by John Kerwin

The first group of Expert riders departed at 9.30 am to check 1 which included the special test which was not timed on the first run. On the subsequent timed runs, Will Hoare on his KTM emerged as the winning expert from Harry Edmonson on the 125 Fantic. Will had a winning margin of 9 seconds over Harry who on his final test set the fastest test of the day at 7m.42 sec, Harry Houghton had a good ride and finished 3rd expert.

In a very competitive o40 class uper vet Mark Houson once again showed that being over 60 is no handicap as he won from Karl Greenall with Richard Hawes 3rd.

Chris Brown took the Clubman win from Seb Preston and Robert Latham was third.

Andy Dean won the 050 class from Gav Elliot, Mark Richie struggled with a broken gear change shaft to get 3rd o50. Sam Antha won the Sportsman class with a very quick test, Kieran Wear was second and Christoper Kent was third.

Big thank you to all the riders that supported the event especially the new riders. there is a lot to learn with time card I hope some of the new riders will persevere

Dirtbike Action will be back in late March with a big North of England time card Enduro as we return to into the valleys and drop the plantation where the test was located with a 25 mile lap.
