In 1988 the Mike Brown Memorial was first staged, with the Huck Cup being added to the event in 2017 attracting some of the biggest names in UK motocross. For 2023 the Jude Morris Celebration Trophy has been introduced with some great prize money up for grabs for riders between the ages of 13 and 23, and a Champions of Champions category with some notable names from the past taking to the track.

The Huck Cup entry is rammed with former champs, British Champions, GP riders and more.  Josh Gilbert is the reigning champion and he will be up against other former winners Tommy Searle and Conrad Mewse, MX Nationals Champion Harri Kullas, Shaun Simpson, Todd Kellett, John Adamson, MX2 hard chargers Isak Gifting, Taylor Hammal and Alfie Jones, sand ace Todd Kellett, and new GTCI Revo Kawasaki signing Mel Pocock… the lost though goes on.

In the Champion of Champions class local star Tom Church will be out for victory in front his home fans, but he will have the likes of Stephen Sword, Jeff Perrett, and Glen Phillips to contend with as well as a whole host of other racers with genuine pedigree.

There is plenty of talent too looking to take home the first ever Jude Morris Celebration Trophy and a stash of cash including the unbeaten this year Billy Askew, Alfie Jones, Josh Bassett, Freddie Gardiner, Charlie Hucklebridge, Jayden Murphy and tons more…

Alongside the above will be the Mike Brown Memorial Over 50 and Under 50 classes, a 125 open class and an Open 2 Stroke class.

The Classes

– Huck Cup
– Jude Morris Celebration Trophy
– Mike Brown Memorial Over 50
– Mike Brown Memorial Under 50

The Charities

The event is a fantastic memorial event for lots of well remembered and loved riders who have sadly left us over the years.

The two charities who will be at Marshfield have been set up to help other sports people who suffer life changing illness or injuries and support services such as the RUH hospital and the Air ambulance, they rely on donations from the public at memorial event plus other events they attend.

Friends of Huck was set up by the late Mark Hucklebridge and his wife after Mark was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2010. It was a way of giving back to others who suffered ill health or injury. The charity is now run by Marks family and friends.

The other amazing charity which will be at the event is the The Jude Morris Racing Foundation is set up in memory of Jude, a brilliant 17 year old Motocross athlete who sadly lost his life competing in The British Championship at Duns in Scotland.
