Team Concept in for Farleigh Castle Vets MX

The promoters of the original Farleigh Castle Vets MX event, held over the weekend of September 12th-15th, are proud to announce that the title sponsor, Concept, has also entered a strong three-man team including Adam Cook, Andrew Gillet, and Rob Lewis at the famous Wiltshire Grand Prix circuit.

Adam Cook, who is 34 years old, will be racing with number 26 plates. Cook is from South Wales, and he started racing in 1996, making his way up through the schoolboy ranks such as BSMA and BYMX, before progressing to the British championship. He formed part of the Welsh squad in 2022 and 2023, so is well-versed in the vets evo racing, especially at the Farleigh Castle circuit.

Andrew Gillett will be lining up on a 2002 Yamaha YZ 250 with number 27 plates. Gillett has been racing since he was 9 years old and raced at British Championship level until he retired from full-time racing in 2009. The 36-year-old from Maesteg, South Wales is no slouch, having won the 2021 Evo championship and was part of the Welsh team at the VMXdN Foxhill, as well as part of the third-placed squad at the 2023 Farleigh Castle Vets MX event.

Rob Lewis is the team’s +40 entrant, though don’t let that fool you. Lewis was the overall victor of the hotly contested Evo 500 class at Farleigh Castle on a borrowed CR 500, he certainly has the speed and fitness to run with the best of them. Hailing from Newport, he started racing in 1988 and progressed through the Severn Valley and Cotswold schoolboy MX clubs to win three BSMA championships and race the ACU British championship. He will be on his own CR 500, running number 25.

The event which is under new management for 2024 is going from strength to strength with entries as expected being hugely popular, alongside this the interest from the trade and industry is unprecedented.

Dave King, Rob Walters and Shaun Copeman plan on bringing the event back to the height of its popularity last seen back in 2018/2019. With all-new catering supplied by the Sweet Potato Spirit Co for 2024, high street retailers The Range/Wilko on site with everything you need, or want, and industry traders returning to the event, alongside 10 blocks of racing and 60 riders on the line in each class, everything is set in place for a cracking weekend of EVO motocross racing. It’s going to be epic.

Farleigh Castle Vets MX is the original vet’s event that was formed by Dave King in 2009 and is not only the original vet’s event in this format, but it also remains the only event where there are 60 two-strokes on every gate
