Take two! 2024 Formula Grasstrack Championship Round 2 Re-run

A new venue will host the re-run of the 2024 H&N Supplies Ltd. Formula Grasstrack championship round 2 on Saturday. The venue is in what has become a hot bed for Formula Grasstrack circuits in the Malpas area on the Cheshire/ Shropshire border and will host the re-arranged round 2 which was due to take place in May.

The event will also be the John Madeley Memorial meeting. John was a key figure in the Whitchurch MCC and was always so helpful to the club and the Bantam Grasstrack scene, a familiar face around the pits for many years.

Lilly Bence tops the E-bike lineup, with Kobi Gutteridge looking to close the gap on Bence. Noah Bakewell and JJ Falconer will both be looking forward to continuing their debut season in Grasstrack.

No Autos or Cadets means the Cubs are the next class on show. Sheffield Speedway mascot Archie Whitelam will be keen to add another 25 points to his championship tally. Chloe Davis makes the trip from Oxford while AJ Bence and Lucas Astley return for more FGA action. Roman Ratcliffe returns after missing round 5 two weeks ago.

The Junior class is back in the programme after no entries at Hampton Hall. Championship leader Isaac Collins-Bullock hopes to rack up another 25 points but will have to get the better of Chrly Arthur and newcomer Joe Bain.

Graham Thomas heads the senior lineup. The Shrewsbury veteran has rolled back the years and is showing why he is twice 250cc British champion.

Wayne Broadhurst will be keen to lower Thomas’s colours and close the gap on the championship table. Colin How will travel up from Minsterley and hope to continue his run of good form. Max Broadhurst and local man Sam Hall lower the average age for final contenders.

Phil Thomas, Adam Hawker and Ant Rowson will be 3 more favourites for race wins during the afternoon.

A 23-rider lineup in the Senior class means plenty of action throughout the afternoon. Mark Furley makes the long trip up from Minehead and will be in the mix for a top-10 finish alongside Marcus Crutchington, Den Edwards and Nathan Alder.

Practice from 12 pm and the first race at 1 pm. Signposted off the A41 at Hampton Heath. SY14 8JQ
