Super Six! 2024 Formula Grasstrack Championship Round 6 - Preview

Formula Grasstrack rolls into Hampton Heath again for the 6th round of 2024 Championship on Saturday. It’ll be the 3rd meeting in the Malpas area in 2 months and at the same venue as July’s Round 5.

Salopian Graham Thomas will be favourite for the Seniors. The former twice british 250cc champion is currently leading the championship after winning 5 meetings out of 5 and with closest challenger Wayne Broadhurst missing, it’ll give Thomas an advantage.

Max Broadhurst will be in action and hoping to push his way back up the championship table. In form men Adam Hawker and Colin How are back and looking for more podiums whilst Phil Thomas and the Rowson Brothers will also be expecting an A final slot.

David Meredith makes his first appearance of 2024 and will be one to watch despite making only 2 appearances in 2023, he is always in the mix.

Birmingham Speedway’s Billy Budd returns to his routes after 5 years away. Budd moved across to the shale sport and has been a regular in the MDL but has been tempted back to the Grasstrack scene, a rider that could put the cat amongst the pigeons. Keith Murfin also comes back after missing all of 2023 and 2024 so far.

Liam Cox is set for his first appearance in the junior category for 2024, the Runcorn teenager has been concentrating on the 250cc class and is a welcome addition to the depleted class. Joe Bain is back for his 2nd spin on grasstrack after impressing last time out and championship leader Isaac Collins-Bullock will be aiming to another victory to his season.

A solid entry of Cubs sees Archie Whitelam, Chloe Davis, Roman Ratcliffe, Lucas Astley, AJ Bence back for more with Kaylem Bourne returning after missing the last one. Joining them will be sole cadet Charlie Dowd. Dowd is the reigning British cadet champion and is looking set to win the fga title too.

Lilly Bence and Kobi Gutteridge are entered for the Ebikes alongside JJ Falconer and Noah Bakewell.

The top 8 Seniors will do battle for the Martin Parry Rosebowl, in memory of the bantam grasstrack racer who passed away 35 years ago at the age of 28.

Practice at 12pm, first race at 1pm.
