First out of the line up at Swanmore was our Veterans. The front 4 were in a race of their own whilst others in the group struggled with the tough conditions thrown at them. Billy Hazell took all 3 race wins very comfortably. 1,1,1 gave him maximum points. The real battles in the Premier class were between the former 4 times champion Tony Hale and current vets champion Mark Morris. In moto one Mark grabbed 3rd and Tony got himself a 4th. Moto 2 went down to the wire, Morris was hot on Hale’s heels but the honda man just edged it with Mr Suzuki just inches behind. In Race 3 Tony had a brilliant ride securing another second. 4,2,2 on the day gave him 2nd place overall. Morris just rode home another 3rd place finish for his podium spot.(3,3,3)
The Mx2 was exciting to watch. Charlie Razzel was back on his 250 ready to give all the others a masterclass but his first race didn’t go to plan when he finished 4th. He did grab the next two wins though, he went 4,1,1 for a well deserved 1st overall. Jordan Bachelor was one to bag a first in race one and a second overall with his results of 1,3,2. Luke Kennett wasn’t going to miss his chance for a podium finish. He showed us his talent with his finishes of 2,5,3 which were worthy of 3rd place.
Nicky Watts took the overall in the mx1 with ease. All 3 results of 1,1,1 meant he walked away with another great result. Tom Shutler gave it his all and it paid off for him. He was very consistent on the day which was shown in his results of 2,2,2. He got second. Third place should have been Tom Chestermans but as he didnt come out for the last race it was anybodys. In the end, Jack Hooper beat Martin Badbury to it. Jack’s results of 5,4,4 were good enough to allow him to grab a podium.
In the Youth class Luke Southern was again too quick for his opposition. His brilliant display of speed earnt him all 3 motos. He made the tough conditions look easy all day and he was worlds ahead of his competitors. 1,1,1 gave him maximum points and his 3rd 1st overall this season. Tyler Kirby surprised everybody with his very consistent riding on the day. 3 strong motos of 2,2,2 secured him second. 3rd could’ve been anybodys and since Max Aspden dropped out it went to Joe Brooker. 4,3,4 was enough for him to earn 3rd.
The Big Wheel 85s were out next and the front three were in a league of their own. Charlie Richmond was unstoppable in the Big wheel class, three perfectly executed rides rewarding him with three wins and the overall. Alfie Payne was closing in with each lap, and tried his hardest to grab a win. Comfortably setting for second spot overall, he went 2,2,2 on the day. Alfie Young worked his way up the field, squeezing into third spot in the first and third moto to secure third overall.
Small wheels impressed all of us with how well they rode the wet and rough conditions. Marley alder yet again took the overall. He had to wait right until the last race for a win but motos of 2,2,1 was still enough to allow the lad to walk away with first overall. Casey Kennet had a great day even taking the chequered flag in race number 2. He went 4,1,2 to earn his second overall. Jacob Luker rounded off the small wheel podium and although he got an 8th in race one, two great rides of 3rd and 4th meant third overall was his.
Ryan Clift was electric out on the track and is looking like the man to beat this season. Another great meeting for the young 65s rider. Three top draw performances of 1,1,1 gave him another meeting under his belt. Troy Kennet gave his all and between him and Arthur Pozzoli the race for second overall was on. Troy just edged it and 3,2,2 ww]as enough to secure it for him. Arthur never gave up and bagged himself a third with results of 6,3,3.
A big congratulations has to go to every single auto rider out there on the day. The conditions made it hard for them but every rider gave it their all. Will Kremer was a no show this week which meant that Leo Adams could get a well deserved and awaited win. 1,1,1 meant the overall and maximum points were his. Not too far behind was Harvey Nicholls. His solid and consistent riding saw him bag 3 second places and a second overall. 3rd place on the day was taken by Alexis Whelan with solid performances of 6,3,3.
