Smith on song at 2024 Pendine Beach Race – Race Report & Results

2024 Pendine Beach Race Results

After the kids ripped up the sand on Saturday, Sunday was the turn of the Adult racers to strut their stuff at the Pendine Beach Race. The beach has been the home of many land speed record attempts over the years, but last weekend, the famous beach hosted a two-day extravaganza of motocross beach racing hosted by the Lets Go Racing Club.

For the two days, the sun shone down on the Pendine beach. Spectators watched for free from the grandstand view along the beachfront while the riders entertained them with their airtime jumps and also the odd tumble off the bikes. Whilst the adults had a slightly longer track with well over a hundred riders, again, Pendine was the place to be on the weekend to watch the dirt bike action hosted by the Lets Go Racing Club, which bought in extra revenue to Pendine at a time of the year when most of the residents in the small west Wales village don’t see much activity for most of the winter months.

Claiming the victory in the Adult A class was Alfie Smith, who made up for finishing second to Jake Bowdwn in the first moto by slamming in two race wins of his own on his way to the overall. John Magilton pitched in with three solid motos for second overall, while Lewis Boyce nailed third.

In the Adult B category, Ashley Bowden went through the card, taking the chequers on all three occasions to win the class. Lee Gould came in second, and Jack Jordan came in third. In the Adult C Novice class, Kian Meredith was the dominant force, going 1-1-1 to triumph ahead of Jay Staples and Dean Curtis.

Chris Marvin was another maximum man in the Vets Over 35’s, fending off Phillip Jones in second and Jeremy Absalom in third, while in the Vets Over 45’s, Brett Trivett rattled off three race victories to top the table. David Boswell-Jones and Emyr Evans were second and third.

Joining the immaculate performance club was Maison Jones in the Youth 125 class, who was joined on the podium by Leah Rees Evans on the second step and Kian John on the third.

The Youth 250 group saw Alfie Crealock-Lovell in fine form. He took the chequers in every race to claim the win over Nathan Maynard and Ollie Davies.
