SC Sporthomes Husqvarna show fighting spirit at MXGB finale!

This weekend, the SC Sporthomes Husqvarna team participated in the final round of the British Motocross Championship at Preston Docks. After a challenging season filled with injuries, the team was excited to have all riders competing and to wrap up the championship on a positive note.

Tristan Purdon entered the weekend struggling with back pain, unsure if he would even line up, but managed to push through. Qualifying 9th, feeling less than comfortable, but showed his fighting spirit in both races. In Race 1, Tristan came from last place to finish 4th. He repeated this performance in Race 2, again fighting from the back to take 3rd before getting passed on the final lap, finishing 4th again. Overall, he secured 4th place for the day and in the championship, a solid finish after a rough start to the season.

Charlie Putnam qualified 15th but faced bad luck in the races. After a heavy crash in Race 1, he had to pull off with two laps to go, finishing 19th. Race 2 went very similarly and saw Charlie having to withdraw again. He finished 15th overall in the championship, showing potential throughout the year despite injuries.

Charlie Heyman, fresh off a Scottish Championship win, qualified 3rd. In Race 1, he worked his way to 8th place, and in Race 2, after starting outside the top 10, he finished 7th. His consistent performance placed him 7th overall for the day, and his season showed great promise even while struggling with his wrist injury. Charlie finished 14th in the Championship.

Also still recovering from injury, Sydney Putnam qualified 21st. He managed two 18th-place finishes in both races, battling hard despite his physical condition. His consistency earned him 20th overall for the day.
Elliott Banks-Browne, unfortunately, had to withdraw from both races due to his lingering wrist injury.

The 2024 season has been a tough one for the SC Sporthomes Husqvarna team, with injuries playing a significant role in our journey, nearly every rider had their share of challenges, but we’re not done yet.

Tristan will soon represent Team South Africa at the prestigious Motocross of Nations (MXoN) event and Charlie Putnam will also be taking to the track at the Pitbike of Nations!
