SC Sporthomes Husqvarna ready to take on America starting with Hangtown this weekend!

Fresh from their solid performances at the ACU British Championship, the 450 riders of the SC Sporthomes Husqvarna, Tristan Purdon and Charlie Putnam, are getting ready for the AMA Pro Motocross in the USA, while the younger of the Putnam brothers, Syd, goes over to compete in the Loretta Lynns qualifiers.

Charlie, no stranger to the AMA scene, is eager to hit the American tracks again. With the team competing in past years, he’s familiar with the intensity of the competition and is ready to give it his all. “Still feel like a little kid when we come out here to take on the American dream,” he says. “The weather conditions are sure to be a lot warmer than in the UK” but Charlie adds, “I have been doing a lot more physical training this year, and I feel like my riding has really come on because of it.”

Tristan’s equally as excited, calling it a dream come true to race in the AMA series. With some MXGP experience last year, he is excited to switch things up and dip his toes in the American Pro scene. Also, coming off a high after his first podium at the ACU British Championship, he’s eager to carry that momentum into these races. “Gonna take every opportunity to learn and do my best.”

The SC Sporthomes Husqvarna Team will take on 3 rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross before returning in time for Round 3 of the ACU British Championship at Blaxhall on the 23rd of June.

Hangtown | California | June 5, 2022
Thunder Valley | Colorado | June 12, 2022
High Point | Pennsylvania | June 19, 2022

While Tristan and Charlie are in Colorado, Syd Putnam will make his way out to Georgia, where he will compete at the Echeconnee Regional, a Loretta Lynns Qualifier Event, in hopes of securing his spot to compete in the Loretta Lynns event, which is a one-week event to be held from July 29, 2024 to August 3, 2024. Following his pro MX2 debut in the UK, Syd has also amped up his training routine and has noticed the improvements on track, “Thanks to Neil Prince and Paul Cooper and the rest of the team.”

We look forward to seeing what the team will do out in the States!
