Toby Shaw proved he is one of British Enduro’s Rising Stars by winning 6 of the 7 rounds in the Youth class of the 2022 Motul National Cross Country championship, so we caught up with him to find out more about him…

Toby: 14 Years of age

Toby: KTM 150
DH: How and when did you start riding?
Toby: I started riding trials at age 4
DH: What was your first bike?
Toby: Oset 16
DH: What made you choose Enduro?
Toby: I wanted to have a go at something a bit faster than trialling
DH: Where was your first race?
Toby: Tong with Edge Offroad in 2020 on my KTM 65
DH: When and where was your first race win?
Toby: Tong with Edge, I won my first race.
DH: Which rider has influenced you the most and why?
Toby: Billy Bolt because he’s the best
DH: Where’s the coolest place and track you’ve ridden?
Toby: Commondale
DH: Outside of Enduro, who is your sporting hero?
Toby: Jeffery Herlings
DH: What country would you like to visit that you haven’t yet and why?
Toby: Romania, as it sounds like a cool place to ride my bike
DH: Name one thing you don’t like and explain why?
Toby: Brussel sprouts because they’re gross!!

DH: What’s been your biggest achievement so far?
Toby: Winning the Clubman class at the Wild Willys Extreme

Toby: My bike

Toby: Dakota by Stereophonics
DH: If you didn’t want to be a pro enduro rider, what would you like to be?
Toby: A builder and work with my dad
