Rhayader host ACU Welsh Enduro Championship with a Friday Evening Prologue – Preview & Event info

This top class event will be kicked off with the exciting Friday Evening PROLOGUE format which is sure to draw large crowds, to watch the Championship & Expert class riders compete in a “head to head duel” over a short extreme type test with lots of man-made hazards, Rocks, Logs, Tyres etc. First riders will start 6.30pm & will probably go on until approx 8pm. The Prologue will count as the 1st special test time of the weekend. To keep the crowd updated top UK commentator Huw Watkins will be present. All this plus Gwi Jones singing live in the marquee from 8pm until 11pm, with a licensed bar & catering, making it an enjoyable night out for all the family, admission fee – Just £5 Adults & Children £2!!

An excellent line up of top International & UK riders are already entered – many times World Champion Steve Holcombe, top Australian Enduro ace Wil Ruprecht, New Zealand ace Hamish Mcdonald, UK World GP riders Jamis McCanney, Harry Edmondson, current World Open Class Enduro Champion Harry Houghton, Josh Gotts, Jordan Scott, Tom Sagar plus top local rider Alex Walton who is on top form season, to name but a few this mix of experienced and raw talent guarantees an action packed event.

The event is held at Cwmythig Hill situated off the B4518 on the Rhayader to St Harmon road, it will be signposted from Rhayader. Cwmythig boasts a tarmac drive, large hard standing paddock, large grass field parking area & a permanent toilet block.

Following the prologue the main event will be the Rhayader 2 Day Enduro, on the Saturday & Sunday, starting at 8.30am both days from Cwmythig. This is rounds 7 & 8 of the ACU Welsh Enduro Championship.

Top locals all set for battle in the Expert Class are Adam James, Tom Wright, Jack Probert Liam Ryland & Kris Price all hoping for good placing’s. Top riders in the Clubman Class are local youngster Ryan Rowlands, Ben Anderson & Cosmin Radu There are also classes for Over 40’s, Over 50’s & Ladies, with a healthy 180 entries filling up the event. The route will be 35 miles per lap with using local forests, plus an Enduro test at Saintwell & a Motocross test at Cwmythig, plus a brand new Cross Test at Dolly Farm. All classes will complete 3 laps on the Saturday (Sunday laps to be confirmed), with an extra motocross test at Cwmythig at the end of each day.

Following the event on Saturday evening will be a Bingo & Raffle, plus the brilliant Lucky Pierre singing live in the marquee that will also host a licensed bar, hog roast to keep everyone entertained during the evening.

The events take place over the Bank Holiday Weekend, starting Friday Evening 25th August through to Sunday 27th August.
