After the anticipation of the first round of the Fastest 40 Championship was dampened by torrential rains, this weekend’s event at the renowned Foxhills Motocross Track unfolded under clearer skies and much drier conditions for the SC Sporthomes Husqvarna team.
Hosted as part of the rebranded Fastest 40 Championship, the event introduced a new format of Saturday racing, and the team was eager to get another gate drop out the way.
Charlie Heyman encountered a setback with a poor start in the second race, making it difficult to climb back up the ranks on a narrow track. Despite his efforts, he narrowly missed out on the overall podium finish in his class. Syd Putnam, transitioning to the pro ranks, found the competition tough but remained determined to improve and make his mark in his rookie year.
Charlie Putnam also had himself a solid ride, with a good start in race 2 to put him inside the top 10 and then make the pass for a 9th place finish in race 2. Tristan Purdon showcased some good speed and talent with a solid second-place finish in the first race and a notable holeshot in the second race and even holding the lead for a few laps, before eventually settling for third, and securing an overall second place.
As the team prepares for the upcoming British Championship at Lyng or Norwich Viking Motorcycle Club, they remain focused on improvement and are eager to build on their successes. With the addition of Elliott Banks Browne, doing his first race under the team awning for the year, anticipation for the next race is high. The team is optimistic about their progress and is determined to continue working hard to achieve their goals.
