Poland is waiting! 2024 FIM Sidecarcross World Championship Round 5 – Preview

2024 FIM Sidecarcross World Championship Round 5 - Preview

Round five of the 2024 FIM Sidecarcross World Championship heads to Poland over the weekend of 15-16 June and the Tor Motocrossowy Gdansk track run by the Auto Moto Club Gdansk. We were at this track one year ago and experienced an epic track and great organisation.

Words by Barry Nutley – Images by WSC

This as close to home as the series leaders Daniels and Bruno Lielbardis will get on their tour of Europe. This time they arrive in Poland carrying the red plate, regained last time out in Kramolin at the expense of Koen Hermans and Ben van den Bogaart. They had a disastrous Czech GP with zero points from both races.

The same applied to Brett Wilkinson and Joe Millard, who slipped to fifth in the title chase standings as a result. Big winners in Kramolin were defending champions Marvin Vanluchene and Glenn Janssens, Killian and Evan Prunier and Tim Prummer/Rodolphe Lebreton. The table now has a very different look heading for Poland.

Having said all that, the points covering the top five are very close, with Wilkinson being the only one slightly out of touch, and with Poland marking the half-way stage of the series, everything is still up for grabs.

One thing is certain, having tasted victory in Plomion and Kramolin respectively, the Prunier brothers and Tim Prummer/Rodolphe Lebreton will want more.

The EMX Quads are also on the agenda with Harry Walker from the UK enjoying a handsome lead with two rounds and four races left to do.

Patrick Turrini had a disastrous second round in Heerde, and now simply must focus on winning the next four races if he has any chance of retaining his title.

The live stream will bring you all the action from both sidecar and quad qualifying and racing across the entire weekend with details of how to buy your season or weekend pass here – https://page.inplayer.com/fimsidecarcross/
