The track was a bit claggy after frosts earlier in the month but a lovely mild day meant a generally enjoyable day all round.

Starting with the Kids, Ryan Ingram was on fire in the Junior 1 class forcing the issue with a full set of heat wins and victory in the final ahead of Mya Harris who improved as the day went on and Frankie Wilkinson.

In Junior 2 Ingram was in the mix again but the battle for the chequers raged hard between Toby Johnson with three heat wins and Wyatt Hopkins with two. When the pressure was on though it was Hopkins who triumphed in the final, with Ingram second and Johnson third.

Joe Alcock was a dominant force in the Pitbike category and hammered home a maximum run of race wins in the heats but didn’t show on the podium in the final which was won by Neil Mcdermott. Wyatt Hopkins was second and Simon Field was third.

One fall apart Ted Wilkinson was in top form in the Flat Track class claiming victory in all of his other heats and in the final. Paul Cooper had an up and down day but finished in second place in the final with Sean Seddon third.

Wilkinson was also the chap to beat in the Minibikes but no one could stop him as he clinched each and every victory fending off Alec Ellis and Cid Norman in the final.

Aaron Staniforth put a first race defeat behind him, putting the hammer down in the remaining heats and in the final to be a solid winner in the Inappropriate class. Tom Batham was second in the final ahead of Andrew Walker in third.

In the MX Class, Graham Cooper had a storming day and conquered all before him in the heats and final. Josh Fowler was second in the final with Brad Robinson third.

Andy Abraham was the lone wolf in the Vintage MX class which of course meant he went home as the victor but he was still well in the mix with the modern bikes.

In the Ladies Rachel Pledge saw off Emma Norman and Mya Harris in the final.

Talking of Pledge she also competed in the Street Tracker races and won the first three heat races before Sam Shock notched it up a gear and claimed the last heat and final victory. In the final, the number two step on the podium was claimed by Darius Zbyrowski with James Kellett rounding out the top three.

On the subject of Zbyrowski he would come to the fore in the Street comp class where he would be victorious in the final over Michael Sharpe and Max Jackman. Nick Rock would win the Vintage Flat Track class.

The next round of the championship takes place on Sunday 16th January. For more info go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/880967418931544
