Persistence pays off for Bailey! 2022 TBEC Trail Bike & Enduro Club of Great Britain championship – Final Standings

After nine closely-fought rounds beginning in the Luton mud in March and finishing in November at Whaddon in Buckinghamshire, Cheltenham’s Toby Bailey emerged the winner of the ACU 2022 ‘TBEC’ Enduro Championship on his KTM EXC 300.

While seven-time champion James Berrill led the initial charge, it was 23 year old Bailey whose relentless persistence provided the greatest challenge for the title. By the seventh round, at Kimpton, he was leading the Elite class of the championship outright, with the Gas Gas of Dan Smith snapping at his heels.

The final round at Whaddon saw Toby dominate right from the off, winning the 3 hour enduro from Smith by over 5 minutes. After the 170 riders had dropped their lowest score at season end, Toby Bailey came out on top with 2314 points, with Dan Smith eventually finishing runner-up on 2280 points.
