Northern Ireland Coming In Hot, with Crockard, Irwin and Bradshaw on the team!

The familiar names just keep pouring in for VMXdN Foxhill and today we see the announcement of the Northern Ireland Squad lining up to compete in the VMXdN International Team Race. Ireland has a deep and rich racing DNA, and its no surprise that this Northern Irish team are coming in hot for VMXdN Foxhill 2023, which is held over the August bank holiday weekend (the 24th thru 28th) at the legendary Wiltshire Grand Prix circuit synonymous of the 90’s Grand Prix action.

After narrowly missing out on second place on the podium in 2022, the Northern Irish squad must be a favourite for honours. They are pure racers, and with some Irish luck, they are sure to outdo last year’s third place and leave with some silverware.

The team have sponsors, Yoko, Scarlett DIY, MET Healthcare and Securashred, helping the squad across the Irish Sea for the event.

Gordon Crockard, who needs no introduction, is heading the squad as manager and taking the number one spot on the team. Crockard is a multi-time British champion and Grand Prix winner whose best world championship campaign ended with a third overall in the standings, very impressive stats indeed. These days he oversees the HRC factory Honda squad at the MXGP series. He is also best known as a Honda rider, and in fact, racing his original 2001 Honda CR 250 race bike with the number 7 on the plates. The bike is prepped by his GP spanner man Nick Moore. These guys are a formidable pairing, and though there’s plenty of banter between the two, they’re deadly serious when it’s time to go racing.

Graeme Irwin will be sporting the number 8 on the gate for Team Northern Ireland. Irwin is a former British champion and Grand Prix rider, so his credentials cannot be questioned. Having walked away from professional motocross to follow in his brother’s footsteps and go road racing, he still yearns for the dirt, which brings him back to certain events to compete. Luckily for us, the VMXdN Foxhill is one of the lucky ones, and we’re more than proud to have him. He will be racing a 2001 Honda CR 250. Irwin will be a serious threat in any race he starts in.

Nev Bradshaw takes third place on the team, and last is by no means least in this case! Bradshaw is a journeyman racer, and anyone lucky enough to make VMXdN Foxhill 2022 witnessed one of the best races of the day with Bradshaw’s ongoing battles with AMA national champion Mike Brown in the 125 race. Nev is well-known for his social media presence, love of old two strokes, and racing worldwide. He is right up for mixing it up in the international team for Ireland (he just needs to work on his accent). In the VMXdN International Team Race, he is racing a 1998 Honda CR500 with the number 9 plate.

From the moment the gates open at 12 noon on Thursday, 24th August, there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained all weekend at VMXdN Foxhill.

You won’t want to miss the Show’N’Shine event on Thursday, a feast for the eyes for any two-stroke fan. There are three nights of entertainment and two solid days of back-to-back racing action from legends past and present from around the globe. The ultimate MX event for motocross fans, whatever your age!
