NEW TEAM: AVT Campers KTM to make its debut in the British, European, and World Championship Paddocks

It’s always good to report on new outside sponsors and teams joining the sport to help some of our best young riders with their racing efforts in one of the toughest sports on the planet.  Thankfully, Dirt Hub were approached by a new outfit to help to promote them as they step into the British, European, and even World Championship racing scenes.  Welcome to the party, AVT Campers KTM!

The new team will give massively-appreciated assistance to some of our most promising riders, including the brother and sister pairing who we recently featured in our Rookie Report – which you can read >here< – James and Lucy Barker!

Here is the team’s official announcement:

AVT Campers specialise in Building VW Camper vans but we are now in the process of designing and building a VW Transporter 4motion for the Motocross/ MTB / BMX / Road Cycling market. With this in mind we thought, with so many sponsors unfortunately pulling out of Motocross, that it would be a great opportunity to try and help some of the talent who race in the British paddocks.

Motocross is our hobby and our passion, we have helped a couple of teams and individuals over the last couple of years, the teams being Matt Gardiner MX & Ultimate Wheels Honda. Also one of our friends and a fantastic talent, Dylan Woodcock, for the World Supercross at Villa Park.

For 2024 we have decided to go to the next step and support some riders to represent our new team, AVT Campers KTM.

We have secured the services of the brother and sister duo “ The Barkers”, who have great talent and most importantly are great people.

Lucy Barker,  #310

In the 2023 season she competed in the European Championship, which she won, making her the first ever English woman to do this.
5x Girls National Champion.
A brilliant points-scoring ride at the Arnhem WMX GP.
3rd at Monster Mountain for the final round of the 125cc Youth British Championship.
3rd at the Zwarte Cross in the Netherlands.

Next year her plan is to race all 6 GPs in WMX and all of the European Championships in the Women’s 250cc class.

James Barker #410

2023 was James’ Rookie year in MX2.
Tough year for James but some brilliant point scoring rides at Blaxhall, Schoolhouse and Lyng.
Showed his potential by qualifying for both EMX250 rounds at Arco & Arnhem.
Next year he will compete in the British PRO MX2, the Dutch championship and selected EMX250 rounds.

Braidy Tucker #145

Braidy will be our 125cc rider competing in MXY2 and the British Nationals. Last year was very up and down, after working so hard through the winter to go up to a 125 he had numerous bike problems, resulting in him switching bike brands 3 times.
Now he has things sorted out we are excited to get behind Braidy and support him through 2024.

We have also given a privateer support to Jamie Carpenter #184 after his original plans fell through late on, he had to rally round and get people to help him go racing in 2024.

Team JC184 was born and AVT Campers are excited to get behind Jamie.

We teamed up with upcoming clothing brand Ride MX to make sure Jamie has custom race kits for 2024.

This was a no-brainer due to two of our riders, James & Braidy, already being kitted out in Ride Gear for 2024.

Emeks is supporting Lucy to help her for the up and coming season.

To say we are excited about 2024 is an understatement… this was made much easier by the great sponsors & companies which have supported us..
