Some more changes to the teams’ riding included Chris Booth teamed up with passenger Dan Foden, Ryan Scarr teamed up with passenger Liam Mudie, and it was great to see the Irish faces of Gary Moulds and Paul Horton. Luke Banks rode with the Veteran passengers of Dave Keane.
Qualifying positions: Brown/Gray, Wilkinson/Millard, Foden/Booth, Hodges/Henderson, Moulds/Horton, Foyle/Wilkinson, Milliar/Curnow, Rogers/Beavis, Banks/Keane, Whitt/Grahame.
Race 1:
Round the first corner, the legend of Sidecars Stuart Brown & Lewis Gray took the lead, closely followed by Hodges/Henderson, Wilkinson/Millard & Foden/Booth. The top 4 were in a close battle, leaving the rest of the group. It wasn’t long before the carnage begun with Foden/Booth taking a heavy tumble dropping them back to last place, Foden had his work cut out. Wilkinson/Millard was all over the back of Hodges/Henderson for a good few laps. Millair/Curnow also crashed, taking them to the back of the pack. Osbaldiston/Mckay moved into 4th place, Moulds/Horton in 5th with a good battle of Team Wilson, team Foyle, and Team Whitt. Foden/Booth started taking on Mudie/Scarr.
Wilkinson/Millard overtook Hodges/Henderson and began to hunt down the first-place team of Brown/Gray. The mid-pack had some close racing between Team Whitt, Team Rogers, and Team Grahame. Moulds passed Osbaldiston to take fourth place.
Wilkinson/Millard had their work cut out, Brown wasn’t letting them get last easily, but eventually Wilkison made the move to take 1st place. Foden/Booth were still making passes, getting past multiple teams each and every lap, taking them to 8th! A fantastic experience for Chris Booth who held in well with Foden. Over the line went: Wilkinson/Millard, Brown/Gray, Hodges/Henderson, Wilson/Rowan, Foyle/Wilkinson, Moulds/Horton, Osbaldiston/Mckay, Foden/Booth, Grahame/Lloyd &Whitt/Grahame.
Race 2:
Round the first corner was no 1 of Wilkinson/Millard swiftly flowed by Brown/Gray and Moulds/Horton. Lap 1 was Wilkinson/Millard, Brown/Gray, Moulds/Horton, Wilson/Rowan, Foden/Booth Hodges/Henderson & Mudie/Scarr, Whitt/Grahame, Milliar/Curnow, Foyle/Wilkinson and Grahame/Lloyd. The race was close.
Foden seemed to have trouble with his bike seeming to keep cutting out, while Hodges was all over Wilson/Rowen for many laps but couldn’t get past.
At the front, Wilkinson/Millard made a comfortable gap with Brown/Gray chasing Wilkinson. However, he also had issues with his rear spindle coming out, so he had to nurse the bike.
Hodges eventually got past Wilson/Rowen and headed to hunt Moulds/Horton in 3rd place as Foyle/Wilkinson had motor issues, taking them out of the race, and Olly Peters also had drama with his passenger dislocating his shoulder.
Eventually, Hodges/Henderson took Moulds/Horton for 3rd.
There was some more great racing throughout the pack. Foden and Booth, despite having clear bike issues, made their way from mid-pack up to 4th! Another fantastic ride from Chris Booth!!
Over the line was Wilkinson/Millard, Brown/Gray, Hodges/Henderson, Foden/Booth, Moulds/Horton, Wilson/Rowen, Milliar/Curnow, Grahame/Lloyd, Rogers/Beavis, Whitt/Grahame.
