If we hadn’t had enough injuries this year, Glenn was sidelined for this round due to tearing shoulder muscles/ligaments in a mid-week practice crash. Alfie is also still missing out on the action from the broken leg incident at RD 3 Lyng.

Ben & Harvey holding it down for the MX2 lads & being out first, they set to work in already very humid conditions. Both had struggles in the qualifying session seeing Ben finish P16 and Harvey P27 after he suffered a mechanical issue.

MX1 qualifying was out straight after which see both Tom & Dan get their heads down. Both lads are still suffering from ongoing injuries, Dan his wrist and Tom his shoulder. Their qualifying wasn’t where either wanted it to be, Dan finished P18 Tom P19.

On to the First MX2 race of the day a good 4 hours after they first took to the track, Ben had a top 15 start and pushed his way forward to top 12 within the first lap.
Harvey was riding well but again due to a bike issue had to retire from the race only 2 laps in. Ben was left to hold the fort for the MX2 guys and powered his way through to finish in a brilliant P10.

MX1 Race one took to their first race with Dan getting a brilliant jump and into the top 10 with Tom following suit just 2 spots behind. Dan was riding a blinding race until an unfortunate goggle malfunction see him have to make a rapid F1-like pit stop to switch goggles, but this put him down the pack and was unable to regain that top 10 position finishing P21. Tom still struggling from the effect of his shoulder injury rode a very good race to finish P14.

Race 2 for MX2 Ben had a great start in the top 12 where he made some brilliant passes early on which for the spectators was some great racing to watch. He settled himself into 7th which is where he stayed until the very last lap. Unfortunately, he hit a harsh kicker on a downhill step down which resulted in the race being red-flagged for Ben’s safety. Harvey Meanwhile found his rhythm in the race and was having tough but good battles with riders which will only bring him along, finishing Race 2 in P22.

MX1’s last race of the day on now an extremely rough track got underway after some track amendments were made due to Ben’s crash. Tom and Dan both had decent starts in this race seeing them both in the top 15 on the first lap. Picking off other riders along the way they ended up side by side, Tom finishing P12 and Dan P13.

After Ben’s off he was taken to the local hospital in Telford for checks by the track medical crew. We can confirm he was released later that evening with a bad concussion, Which he cannot remember anything from the crash or leading up to going to the hospital. He also sustained a broken rib and punctured lung.

With a bit of rest, I’m sure it won’t be long until we see him back on track.

The results are not where the lads want to be and we will work on that, Make a few tweaks and come back stronger.

Overall Results

MX1
Tom – 14 & 12 = 12th
Dan – 21 & 13 = 17th

MX2
Ben – 10 & DNF = 14
Harvey – DNF & 22 = 26

The next round for the team will be on 2nd July for RD6 of the Revo British at Schoolhouse, a new track to the calendar.
