McCanney brothers dual threat makes Team Isle of Man podium contenders at VMXDN Foxhill

McCanney brothers dual threat makes Team Isle of Man podium contenders at VMXDN Foxhill

With only seven weeks before VMXdN Foxhill, the greatest Vets motocross event in the country (dare we say the world), opens its gates at the iconic Wiltshire Grand Prix Foxhill circuit, just off junction 15 of the M4, the names keep on dropping.

The teams lining up in the VMXdN International Team Race are still being announced to give a true depth of talent (as it is in every one of the nine groups on track) as the top riders in the world prepare their classic two strokes for the battle over the August bank holiday.

Team Isle of Man will be a podium threat for sure with the dual threat of the McCanney brothers, Danny (who will run number 22) and Jamie (number 23). Both are world-class enduro guys who cut their teeth on the rough motocross circuits on the island. With multiple British and world enduro championships to their name, the hilly Foxhill circuit will offer no dramas to the talented brothers.

The third member of the team is honorary Manxman Ryan Hunt, who spent his racing career in the UK, most notably with Honda Britain, where he won British championships, the Weston Beach race, and some strong Grand Prix performances. Hunt was part of the MXdN team back in 1993 at Foxhill. He will be riding a YZ 250 running the number 24 plates.
The annual VMXdN Foxhill, the biggest and most anticipated event on the UK calendar, is a four-day MX festival celebrating everything that’s great about the golden era of Motocross, the 90’s and 00’s. There is a lot going on over the four days with a sold-out trade area, food and beverage vendors, the Range Show’N’Shine powered by Motoverde bike show on Friday and entertainment across the weekend, including Podcasts with Torq Moto and Pulp MX. There are plenty of industry legends on site to share a cold beer, Ryan Villopoto and Damon Bradshaw, to name just two. And for 2024 we have removed the sides from the beer tent!

With ticket sales currently massively up on the 2023 event to date it is likely going to sell out prior to the race- so the advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.

For 2024, to speed up access to the site and reduce the queues to get in, the promoters are encouraging everyone to buy tickets in advance online (see the VMXdN Foxhill website), so it’s a quick scan of the QR code on your electronic ticket and we can all get on with enjoying the weekend as quickly as possible.
Saturday, Sunday, Weekend Tickets, and camping passes are available at https://www.vmxdnfoxhill.com/buy-tickets
