Max Anstie has achieved another significant milestone for the Fire Power Honda race team by claiming the championship lead, with a privateer squad, heading into round 3 of the East Coast Supercross Championship. Anstie’s consistent performances, coupled with the championship-winning CRF250R from Honda, have proven to be a winning combination. Despite his frustrations with the overall finish in round 2, Anstie is pleased to carry the red plate into the upcoming Daytona event.

“After an early race incident where I collided with another rider and damaged my bike, I had to fight my way back. While the overall result was frustrating, having the red plate going into Daytona is special,” said Anstie, acknowledging the dedication of his team.
Anstie, at 30 years old and with a pro career dating back to 2009, savours this first-time experience of holding the red plate. “It’s a culmination of factors—the support around me, training at MTF, feeling settled, and the teamwork and momentum built in Australia. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone involved. Now, our focus is on maintaining consistency,” he added.
Dean Wilson, the team’s SX1 rider, had a respectable night, finishing 13th and moving up to 15th in the championship standings. “My goal remains consistent—striving for top 10 finishes and improving to finish inside the top 12 by the end of the championship,” said Wilson, acknowledging the stiff competition in the field.
Team Principal Martin Davalos expresses his pride in the team’s achievements and acknowledges the sacrifices made by all involved. “As a small team, Yarrive has made significant sacrifices to establish and maintain this program. Securing the red plate is a testament to our dedication and the hard work of our staff and sponsors,” said Davalos, emphasizing the historical significance of this milestone for a true privateer team.
