Max Anstie maintains second in 250SX East Championship!

Indianapolis has become one of the most popular rounds on the Monster Energy Supercross schedule. Thousands of passionate fans ventured into the Lucas Oil Stadium to watch the 250SX East title battle rage on. Fire Power Honda’s Max Anstie is locked in that duel and secured yet another solid result on his CRF250R, but wants to return to the podium.

It was a relatively quiet night of racing, in comparison to previous weeks, as riders battled to stay on two wheels on the rugged track. Anstie was pinched off heading into turn one in the 250SX East main event, but was quick to make progress and set his sights on a position in the top five. ’63’ worked so hard over the fifteen-minute main to eventually claim fifth at the checkered flag and maintain a perfect streak of top-five rankings. Second’s the spot that he continues to hold in the championship standings.

Indianapolis was another positive outing for Dean Wilson and, once again, the result does not tell the full story. ’15’ worked so hard to climb onto the cusp of the top ten in that 450SX main. Unfortunately, however, a handful of mistakes restricted him to twelfth at the finish. Twelfth continued his remarkably consistent season and helped him climb into ninth in the premier-class standings, a great achievement. Eight rounds remain for him to continue to build!

Detroit, Michigan, is the next appointment for Fire Power Honda. Max Anstie and Dean Wilson will be striving to achieve their respective goals when the lights are turned on in Ford Field, a stadium that’s been on the tour for some time.

Max Anstie: “P5 in Indianapolis and I just did not have anything for the top guys. It was my first time at Lucas Oil Stadium and, man, what an experience! The track was something special and the ruts were just insane. I learned a lot with the team and we can use that moving forward. We have had a good week thus far, we got straight back into training and we have tested a few new parts. I know what I need to do!”

Dean Wilson: “I struggled all day in Indianapolis, for whatever reason, and just could not figure it out. I had a couple of crashes and struggled in the ruts. Onwards and upwards though! I am happy that we have moved to ninth in the points, so thank you team.”
