Despite typical British weather playing a hand in the weekends event, the lads where ready to get their heads down and go racing.

MX1 were first out on the wet sandy track for their qualifying session, Tom & Dan both put in solid lap times resulting in 7th and 19th respectively.

MX2 qualifying seen Alfie, Ben & Glenn take to the track along with Harvey Cashmore making his MX2 debut. All 4 put in some impressive lap times considering the conditions and despite an unfortunate red flag just at the start of timed qualification Alfie qualified in 17th, Glenn 18th, Ben 20th and Harvey 36th.

MX1 Race 1, Tom had a blinding start coming round the first corner in 5th with Dan mid pack. Both set to it very early on, heads down pushing through. Tom rode the majority of the race in 4th but some late passes saw him home in 7th. Dan stormed through the pack and moved into 9th before having a slight off, dropping him back into 15th at the flag.

MX2 Race 1, Alfie had the best start of his Pro MX2 career so far, coming round the first corner in 2nd. Ben & Glenn both had decent starts within the top 15, with Harvey not far behind. As the race progressed Alfie seemed comfortable upfront with the top runners and battled well to hold onto his position. Glenn had unfortunately tweaked his knee second lap and did well to stay in the top 15. Once the race settled Ben showed tremendous speed in the sand which his lap times clearly showed. Meanwhile Harvey was having his own battles on track putting in consistent lap times. Alfie finished 8th, Ben 13th, Glenn 15th & Harvey 28th.

Unfortunately the start of the second MX1 race was red flagged due to a first turn incident. At the restart, Tom had another storming start in the top 6. Dan had issues with his start device on the first couple of laps which hindered his abilities. With a rough and deep track to contend with both Tom and Dan demonstrated great race strength and determination despite issues along the way. Tom finished P7 and Dan P18.

In the last and final race of the day Alfie had a flying start in P5 with Ben not far behind in the top 12, Harvey was mid pack and Glenn had a cautious start well down the order. By the end of the gruelling race and day light diminishing fast, Alfie brought it home in 4th, Glenn 12th, Ben 14th & Harvey 26th.

Overall on the day MX1
Tom 5th
Dan 19th

Overall on the day MX2
Alfie 6th
Glenn 11th
Ben 12th
Harvey 30th

On a day when it was always going to be survival of the fittest on a very tough and demanding track, all the lads got some very good results and it’s definitely a starting block.

Next event for the Team will be the opening round of the MX Nationals back at Oakhanger on 25th & 26th March.
