Following Jett Lawrence’s apology – see >>> here <<< for that full story – towards Jason Anderson following their little nose-to-nose face-off at the San Diego Supercross, “El Hombre” Jason Anderson has given his reply, and shall we say that it’s not necessarily going to calm things down an awful lot…
The later comment there is obviously in reference to Jett’s declared intent to chase down the record of Jeremy McGrath, AKA The King of Supercross, which stands at 72 Wins.
Replies came in on the social media post from various big MX & SX names:
Former Supercross winner Josh Grant replied: “@elhombre21 Probably my favorite post ever!”
Billy Bolt admitted “Ur my fave”
Adam Cianciarulo quipped “Great for the ratings”
Hayden Deegan just gave two crying laughter emojis
Ken Roczen simply posted “Hahahahahaha”
Ricky Carmichael posted “281 330 8004 jit JA up on the low. I’d be blowing your phone up”… to which Jason himself replied “lol”
Austin Forkner weighed in with a bit of a tale: “Dude came to the medic rig crying, yes literally crying to me after he broke my collarbone and tore my shoulder in Dallas a few years back. Like man tf up and move on. Also as a rider, someone grabs my helmet then we’re gonna be JLaw and Villo at Hangtown, so a little grab on the helmet was respectable in that situation.”
Jeremy McGrath himself stepped up to post “Keepin it real! #stayconsistent @elhombre21” with a fist bump emoji.
Joey Savatgy noted that “Got el hombre fired upppp”
Those of us old enough to recall the treatment handed out to Jean-Michel Bayle when he started winning in America will know that American crowds will not like overseas riders winning, and now with social media to add to the flames you can bet that there will be a response from the crowd at Anaheim 2. This one could run and run…
