Competing in her third FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) Great Britain’s Jane Daniels (Fantic) is a true motorcycling fanatic.
Riding bikes and racing them almost all her life, Daniels has worked hard to rise to the top of her sport.
A team event at heart, the FIM ISDE differs from the regular FIM Enduro Women’s World Championship that Jane currently leads.
In France with teammates Rosie Rowett (KTM) and Nieve Holmes (Sherco), the dream this week is to better their Women’s World Trophy runner-up result from 2021.
“This is my third FIM ISDE and I enjoy the spirit of the event,” says Daniels. “It’s more of a team race than an individual one. Of course, you want to give your best, but you need to come together as a group to do your best for your country.
“I feel like we are a good group. We try to help each other where we can. Be it spotting lines when walking tests, helping in the paddock, or just cheering each other up on down days, that is what is important.”
Despite holding down a normal nine-to-five job during the week, enduro is her passion and one she puts untold energy and sacrifice into. And when all is said and done, she would not change this world she knows for another.
“I love riding bikes. I’ve raced them all of my life,” tells Daniels. “I still work a normal job during the week, but ride and train where I can and then go racing at the weekends. Of course, I’ve made a lot of sacrifices, but it’s all I’ve ever known, and I love it.”
