Jane Daniels and Jet Fantic Racing win at the EnduroGP of Sweden!

The EnduroGP World Championship made a stop at Skovde in Sweden this weekend to contest the fourth round of the seven in this 2023 season.

The second race on Scandinavian soil this year took place on an unusual schedule, with the Super Test held on the evening of Thursday 1st June and the following race days on Friday 2nd June and Saturday 3rd June in the presence of a large crowd of fans who flocked to the Swedish town to cheer on the top riders of the enduro world.

In Sweden our riders had to measure themselves against a not too demanding but very long race with a 58 km course to be repeated three times a day, made up of four PS on the first and third lap and three special tests on the second lap for a total of 11 PS per race day, to which was added the Super Test on the evening of Thursday 1st June.

A highly technical and at times treacherous race course, skilfully designed by the Motoclub FMCK Skovde in collaboration with Track Inspector Maurizio Micheluz, which included an Extreme, half of which was located on the same track as the Super Test and therefore full of artificial obstacles, and the other half in a forest for a total distance of 1 km, a first Enduro Test 6, A first Enduro Test 6.5 km long, very technical and characterised by sandy soil interspersed with roots inside a forest, a second Enduro Test 7 km long, again inside a forest but with sandy soil mixed with roots and loose stones, made very spectacular by the presence of very steep military ramps along the route, which for the occasion allowed our riders to test themselves in spectacular jumps that thrilled the large audience present at the special.

At the end of the course a very long Cross Test of over 6.5 km on hard and dusty flat terrain valid as the last PS on the first and second lap and as the penultimate on the fourth lap of the day, which instead included the Extreme Test at the end.

It was a demanding weekend for the JET Fantic Racing riders who had one day less to recover from the fatigues of the previous GP at Heinola in Finland.

In the Junior class Jed Etchells rode a good race on Friday, taking third place in the Junior class and first place in the Junior1 class.

On the following day the British rider got off to a very concentrated start, recording excellent times on almost all the special tests at stake. Arriving at the last PS on the programme Jed Etchells tried to push to make up seconds on his direct rivals, but made a mistake that ousted him from the final podium of the Junior class. In the Junior 1 class the British rider won yet another day of competition.

Harry Edmondson collected a sixth and a seventh place on the two race days. The reigning Youth Class Champion in his first year in the Junior class ran a smooth race without making any major mistakes and recorded some excellent times in the Extreme Test.

Another strong showing for Jane Daniels in the Woman class, the defending champion recorded several best times in her class and at the end of a long weekend scored two more first places, further consolidating her leadership in the provisional championship standings.

After the Swedish GP, the World Enduro Circus takes a break until the end of June, when the weekend of 30/6 – 2/7 the GP of Slovakia will be held in Gelnica, valid as the fifth round of the 2023 season.Team
