Huge price purse revealed for 2024 Scottish Motocross Championship

The Scottish Motocross Championship went from strength to strength in 2023, attracting some of the biggest names in the UK to the series, including Conrad Mewse, Shaun Simpson, Tristan Purdon, Billy Mackenzie and the crowned champ John Adamson, and many more.

It looks likely that this growth is set to continue in 2024 with a close to £60’000 price purse announced for the Pro Classes thanks to support from Safe Access Highland Ltd, who are continuing to support the Pro class and become one of three title sponsors with Drysdale Motorcycles and FXR Europe.

On their social media they said of the prize fund:

“Huge thank you to Safe Access Highland Ltd for their support of the pro classes last year. We are pleased to announce that they will stay on board as one of our three title sponsors.

“Along with Carnegie Fuels Ltd, Dyce CarriersLtd, Site Sealants Ltd and MODU who all sponsored the series in 2023, they all ensured that Scottish pro purses were the highest we’ve ever seen.

“For 2024 we will be changing the format to pay prize money per moto (3 motos), and will distribute the money so that both top ten in MX1 and MX2 race for money as well as championship bonuses.

“Despite having the cheapest entries of any of the major UK series, this brings the total fund for all the classes to almost 60k.

“As was the case in 2023 we will continue to guarantee that any sponsorship money donated to the series will go directly to the competitors. Whether in the form of prize vouchers for the kids and amateurs, prize money for the pros or extra awards to be handed out at our new end of season awards dinner 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.”
