Hooley makes his mark on Fastest 40 MX Championship for AVT Campers KTM at Preston Docks!

Tyla Hooley made his mark on the 2024 Fastest 40 MX Championship at Preston Docks last weekend for the AVT Campers KTM team.

In the stacked Pro MX2 category Tyla went 9-7 for sixth overall and second in the Under 21’s showing he has the pace to run at the sharp end in future rounds and that he is a surefire contender for the Under 21 title.

Tyla said of his meeting: “Decent weekend for me at the second round of the Fastest 40, started off to a not so good qualifying with a P13 wasn’t happy with this so I focused on the races, race 1 came off to a good start and worked my way to P5 in pro mx2 and leading the Under 21’s, was comfortable in this position until 10 minutes to go I tweaked my knee from a previous injury and after that I couldn’t feel my leg, from there I rode through the pain and salvaged a P9, race 2 I decided to go out and try get some points on the board, started with a decent start and clawed my way to P7 leading the Under 21’s, and this is where I found my self over the checkered flag, was a tough race due to the circumstances I was in and just tried to ride through the pain, I finished P6 overall in PRO MX2 and P2 overall in the Under 21’s, time to heal up and come back for some more, I’d like to say a huge thank you to the main man at AVT campers KTM.”

AVT Campers KTM have expanded their line up for the remainder of the year with Lauren Collingwood joining the team. Lauren who is recovering from a thumb injury is expected to join her new team mate Lucy Baker racing in some Women’s World Motocross Championship rounds.
