Herlings and Febvre battle it out at the Dutch Masters in Oldebroek – Report & Results

During the second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Oldebroek, the expected battle between Jeffrey Herlings and Romain Febvre has come true.

In both the first and second motos, they kept each other under pressure. In the first moto, Febvre made a mistake in a leading position and crashed. Herlings was able to take advantage of this and rode to victory. In the second moto it was Herlings who was in command after the start. In the second moto it was Herlings who was in command after the start. Febvre chased him throughout the race, but Herlings kept his head cool and won the second moto as well. Febvre finished second in the day’s classification with a 2-2 in the heats ahead of Calvin Vlaanderen 3-3. Best private driver was Jere Haavisto in fourth place, followed by Micha Boy De Waal in fifth.

John Adamson had a great meeting finishing eighth overall for Lexa MX.

In the 250 class, the fight for the title continued between Cas Valk and Rick Elzinga. However, both riders were not fighting for the victory but just behind it. Frenchman Thibault Benistant was very strong and managed to win both motos ahead of Janis Martins Reisulis and Elzinga. Valk finished fourth in both motos and remains in the lead in the standings. His lead over Elzinga is only 3 points with only the race in Markelo to go. Spaniard Oriol Oliver finished fifth in the day’s standings with a 6-5 in the motos.

Another Lexa MX Brit Callum Mitchell snatched a point for 37th overall.

Gyan Doensen won both motos in the 125 class and is the new leader in the standings. Doensen was very strong and didn’t make a single mistake, which allowed him to ride to two controlled victories. Markuss Ozolins was second with a 3-2 in the motos ahead of Cole McCullough 2-3. Home rider Dani Heitink came back to the front in both motos after mediocre starts and finished with a 5-6 in fourth place overall. His teammate Jarne Bervoets ended up in fifth place with a 4-12 in the motos.

There were a number of British riders taking part in the 125 class with Drew Stock being the highest finisher in 26th.

In the 85 class, Jekabs Hudolejs managed to take his very first Dutch Masters victory. The Latvian won the first moto and a second place in the second moto was enough to take the overall victory. Timo Heuver kept the damage limited in the first moto after two crashes by finishing third, but rode to victory in the second moto. With this he finished second in the day’s classification ahead of Kenzo Jaspers 4-3. Lucas Leok and Ryan Oppliger were fourth and fifth in the day’s classification.
