Halfway Hampton! Formula Grasstrack Championship Round 6 – Preview

The Formula Grasstrack Association heads to Cheshire this Saturday for the rescheduled H&N Supplies Ltd 6th Round of the championship. The event is traditionally the Jonathon Rodgers Memorial to remember the former champion who sadly passed away far too soon.

The event was moved back a week due to the inclement weather forecast and it is hoped the change will prove to be the right one .

The E-bike category sees Lilly Bence and Dalton Wright continue their attempts at winning the title whilst Eric Derrick makes his return.

Dakota Wright and Alfie Shipp look to continue their battles alongside champion Charlie Dowd, there’s sure to be some fast exciting racing in the Auto cadets. Lucas Astley will be aiming to get himself on the rostrum whilst Kaylem Bourne will be keen to add to his championship tally.

There’s only 2 cadets, Chloe Davis and AJ Bence will be looking to take the top honours whilst mixed with the Cub class where Finley Theobald will be expected to continue his dominance. Champion Logan Price and the all action Archie Whitelam will be doing all they can to beat the youngster from Diss

Another good turn out in the Junior class with maximum man from round 5, Max Derrick looking to continue his winning form but will have to get the better of the returning Ollie Binns and Crewe brothers Joe and Jack. Isaac Collins-Bullock and Charlotte Arthur will also feature alongside Maz Alexander making his 2nd appearance of 2023.
Wayne Broadhurst will be looking to continue his form against an ever present strong line up. Kevin Gwillam, Max Broadhurst, Graham and Phil Thomas, Mark Scopes, Sam Hall and Adam Hawker are all capable of causing the champion from Shrewsbury problems. Phil Thomas has a good record in the Jonathon Rodgers memorial, winning the trophy 3 times previously.

Racing commences at 1pm, free admission to spectators.
