In the scenic setting of Great Cornard on a perfect bright sunny autumn morning, Sudbury MCC welcomed over 130 riders to compete in four classes over two heats and a final over the undulating stubble fields and spinney.

With a wide range of machines, it covered those looking for a bit of nostalgia with a great entry of Pre 65 Evo and twin shock motorcycles and the racing in these classes were every bit as competitive as the newer models more recently out of the showroom.
With strict measures in place to ensure all governing body and local authority guidelines were met, the many spectators who usually make the Annual Dave Roper Memorial event so special were sadly missed but a great days racing was safely enjoyed in the name of the great Sudbury Club Stalwart who sadly passed away while in the position of Sudbury MCC chairman 11 years ago. His family all retain strong links with the club and sadly Dave’s widow Bev a strong supporter, was unable to attend due to restrictions but son Jamie Roper took third place in the A final and nephew Craig took a third in the Evo Class after a determined challenge on the top two placed riders.
