A team first this weekend for Gabriel SS24 KTM, as we take home a 1st place trophy in the Pro MX2 class for the first time ever! Taylor Hammal, who has been going from strength to strength this year, had a great weekend going 1-3 for 1st Overall. Some great racing involved at the front of the pack, and Taylor showed his speed and determination to finish on the podium for the first time this year. To do that, all whilst winning his first Pro race and overall is a great achievement for Taylor and the team, and something we are very proud to have made happen together.

Taylor Hammal: “I’m really happy with the weekend! It was a first race win and overall for me in MX2. Felt like a massive relief to finally do it as I’ve felt I could win for a while, but just had some bad luck. This was one of those weekends where it all came together. Really enjoyed the bike and the track so it was just a great weekend. Big thanks to the team for all their hard work, and everyone that supports me!”

Hammal’s MX2 teammate, Shaun Mahoney, also had a great weekend building on what has been a tough year for the rookie. At only 16 years old, and his first season on a 250f machine, Mahoney has now scored points in each of the last four Motos. A 17-19 scorecard gave Mahoney 19th Overall and another 6 points on the board. Something to be proud of at such a young age, along with the time out he has had over the last year.

In the MX1 class, Tristan Purdon has also been in great form, as he fights for top 5 positions on a consistent basis now at the British Championship. A 7-6 scorecard this weekend gave Tristan 6th overall, as he knocks on the door of the top 5 every week. Another great weekend for Tristan as he also heads back to the GP’s for his next race in two weeks’ time.

Team Gabriel SS24 KTM head to Loket in the Czech Republic in two weeks’ time, for Round 12 of the MXGP Championship. The team’s fifth GP of the year.
