Gabriel SS24 KTM join forces with BICKERS & MAXXIS Tyres

Team Gabriel SS24 KTM are delighted to announce their partnership with the Bickers group for the 2023 racing season and beyond. The newly formed team for 2023 will see Simon Gabriel and Shaun Simpson come together to attack the Arenacross UK Championship, REVO ACU British Championship and select European rounds of the MXGP World Championship, with official backing from KTM UK.

The three man squad will consist of Scot Shaun Simpson who will continue to race in the UK in 2023 at the Arenacross and MX1 British Championships as well as oversee all proceedings in a new role as Team Coordinator. South African Tristan Purdon will join Simpson in the MX1 class at the British Championships, and try his hand in select MXGP rounds throughout the season. In the MX2 class, racing at the British Championship and select MXGP rounds will be young English talent Taylor Hammal, who will be looking for redemption in 2023 after a year out with injury.

Shaun Simpson (TEAM COORDINATOR): “We are delighted to be working with BICKERS next season, and using RK Chains, which I have used for the past three seasons. I honestly wouldn’t ride with anything else to make sure the power from the engine is getting to the rear wheel. The quality of the RK MXZ5 has been amazing with wear and stretching an absolute minimum throughout race weekends. In conjunction with the KTM brand we are super happy to be continuing to use MOTOREX oils to keep our engines running smooth, and with the multiple sprays and shines, we will be sure to be looking good too! Finally, we are very excited to make the transition over to MAXXIS Tyres for 2023. After testing the MaxxCross tyre range back to back with other brands our decision was easily made with the level of grip and trust we had from the tyres, and we are sure to have the edge over our competition.”

Derek McMartin (BICKERS): “Its great to be working with Shaun again next year, and we are super excited to team up with Gabriel SS24 KTM. Gabriel SS24 KTM may be the new boys in the paddock but they are already showing maturity in the everything they do. We are excited to welcome Tristan to the UK to see him ride against the best we have, and its great to be with Taylor again. Bickers are on a drive to prove that Maxxis are winning tyres, and switching Shaun and the team over to Maxxis was not easy, there was a lot of testing carried out to show the tyre delivers the speed needed to win races.”
